Finny (grievre)
These aren't all proven facts but I'm confident in them based on the information we have right now:
- It seems like around 80% of people who are infected experience only minor symptoms. There may be many more minor or asymptomatic cases that go under the radar.
- The mortality/fatality rate seems to be around 2%
- From what little data we have, it's estimated its rate of transmission is around 2-3 times that of common flu viruses
- It is a relative of the viruses that cause SARS and MERS, but is definitely not the same as those. SARS and MERS both killed a higher percentage of the people who contracted them, but also did not spread as fast.
- Incubation period of the virus is somewhere between 2-14 days (not enough data), and people may be contagious before they notice any symptoms.
- It is spread primarily through respiratory droplets
- It survives on surfaces for significantly less than a day.
